About The Position

CenterWell in The Villages is looking for a Board-Certified Internal or Family Medicine Hospitalist to join our multi-specialty group located in The Villages, FL. The incoming physician will be hospital-based (University of Florida Spanish Plaines), joining a team of Hospitalists in a multi-specialty group. This is a full-time position, 7 days on 7 days off from 7 AM-7 PM, responsible for caring for our primary care patients in the hospital setting.

Requirements

• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
• Board certification in a relevant specialty.
• Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Florida.
• Previous hospitalist experience preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for hospitalized patients, including patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care.
• Respond to urgent or emergent situations, performing clinical procedures as necessary.
• Manage admissions, discharges, and transfers of patients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure continuity of services.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care.
• Ensure accurate and thorough documentation in the electronic medical record system.
• Perform patient rounds, monitor progress, and adjust care plans as necessary.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to process development for hospitalist services.
