Requirements

• License to practice medicine in Louisiana.
• Completion of an internal medicine residency.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care and services for hospitalized adult patients.
• Diagnose and treat patients.
• Ensure quality, cost effective care for hospitalized patients.
• Maintain strong rapport with hospital, primary care physicians, specialists and ancillary providers in order to affect quality care.
• Study diagnostic images to aid in making diagnoses.
• Prescribe medications and recommend dietary and activity programs, as indicated.
• Refer patients to specialists as indicated.
• Various administrative duties.
