About The Position

Ochsner Health in Slidell, LA is seeking physicians to join our hospitalist team. BC/BE Internal Medicine and Family Medicine physicians are welcomed to apply. Hospital Medicine was established at Ochsner in 1992 and has grown into a stable group of over 50 members. The role offers a 7 on 7 off block schedule with flexibility, and dedicated nocturnists cover nights. The position includes base compensation plus up to $40K in incentives, with an average census of 14-18 patients. Support includes E-ICU intensivist coverage and open ICUs at community hospitals. The team utilizes the EPIC medical record system with remote access capabilities and is supported by dedicated RN and Social Work Clinical Care Coordinators. There is an opportunity for a community-based academic appointment. Requirements

  • BC/BE Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physicians.
  • Ability to work a 7 on 7 off block schedule.
  • Proficiency with EPIC medical record system.
  • Interest in geriatrics (for specific facility roles).

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care as part of the hospitalist team.

  • Provide clinical training to medical students and residents.
