Internal Medicine physicians examine adult patients 18 years and older to ensure proper care, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery of various medical conditions. They order medically necessary tests, perform follow-up visits, and place referrals to specialists when needed. There is full access to several sub-specialists, imaging, lab services, patient education and more within the Kelsey-Seybold system. They interpret basic medical tests and imaging in planning care for our patients. EPIC electronic health record is used throughout our organization for patient care which is important for collaboration across the system. Internal Medicine physicians see patients in office from 8am-5pm Monday through Friday and are supported by nursing and administrative staff. Depending on your assigned call group, you will take periodic hospital call admitting only Kelsey-Seybold patients. Typically, you are not required to stay overnight in hospitals and certain call groups have nocturnists managing admissions overnight. Family Medicine physicians specialize in caring for the physical, mental and emotional well being of their patients and their families. They are trained to care for all ages, from children age 5 to senior adults. Because family practitioners are trained to treat the whole person, these specialists diagnose and treat the full range of problems people bring to their doctors. They see patients in an outpatient setting Monday-Friday from 8a – 5p to include new patients as well as corporate physicals. They participate in the Family Medicine Call single call group. On-Call for the group is about once per month, either on the weekday or weekend day. The weekend day is shared with another physician. Call consists of answering phone calls from patients of physicians in the call group. This includes annual physicals and wellness exams, and preventive medicine.

Requirements

Medical Degree (MD, DO)
Licensed or willing to be licensed in the State of Texas.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family or Internal Medicine
Valid DEA license, or the ability to obtain prior to employment

Responsibilities

Examine adult patients 18 years and older to ensure proper care, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery of various medical conditions.
Order medically necessary tests, perform follow-up visits, and place referrals to specialists when needed.
Interpret basic medical tests and imaging in planning care for our patients.
See patients in office from 8am-5pm Monday through Friday.
Take periodic hospital call admitting only Kelsey-Seybold patients.
Care for the physical, mental and emotional well being of patients and their families.
See patients in an outpatient setting Monday-Friday from 8a – 5p to include new patients as well as corporate physicals.
Participate in the Family Medicine Call single call group.
