About The Position

Sanford Health has an opportunity available for a BE/BC Family Medicine Physician to join their growing practice in Perham, Minnesota. This is a full-time position within a multispecialty group practice. The clinic is attached to a 25-bed critical access hospital and features a large, modern facility with ample exam rooms. The service region covers approximately 15,000 patients, with outreach specialties available. Perham offers a desirable lifestyle, balancing a small-town feel with proximity to a larger city for amenities.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Successful completion of a Family Medicine residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
  • Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), as applicable.
  • Applicants not board certified at the time of application but who have completed residency within the last five years must achieve board certification within five years from the date of residency completion, unless waived.
  • Demonstrate active involvement in the clinical aspects of Family Medicine by providing a case log that includes 25 vaginal deliveries, 50 adult medical patients, and 10 inpatient care of children under 18 (excluding normal newborn), as applicable to privileges being requested, in the last 12 months.
  • For applicants not applying directly out of residency, provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where they currently have privileges showing clinical activity for the last 12 months, including procedure numbers, morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications.
  • For applicants who have just completed residency, provide their residency procedure log and a list of completed rotations, as applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform history and physical examination.
  • Admit patients (if applicable to the setting).
  • Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to patients of all ages.
  • Manage a wide variety of illnesses, diseases, injuries, mental health conditions, and functional disorders of various body systems.
  • Provide pre-operative care of surgical patients.
  • Provide post-operative medical care of surgical patients.
  • Address return to work issues.
