About The Position

Practice at Camp Pendleton as a civilian Family Medicine Physician caring for Marines, Sailors, families, and veterans. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation with a potential for a recruitment or relocation incentive. Federal civilian healthcare providers are covered by the Federal Tort Claims Act for medical malpractice liability. The salary can be up to $315,000 per year. The surrounding area of Camp Pendleton, including Oceanside, San Diego County, Riverside County, and Orange County, offers diverse living and recreational opportunities. Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association; Association of American Medical Colleges; Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
• For foreign medical schools, must have provided education and medical knowledge equivalent to accredited schools in the U.S., evidenced by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, a fifth pathway certificate, or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination.
• Must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
• Must have at least one year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting (e.g., a one-year internship or the first year of a residency program) in a hospital or accredited institution.
• Must have successfully completed accredited residency training in Family Medicine and equivalent experience and training equal to at least 4 years. Experience may not be substituted for residency training.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Primary Care Optimization (PCO) team leader providing comprehensive outpatient care to beneficiaries ranging from newborn to geriatric age presenting with complex and interdependent acute and chronic conditions.
• Provide pre- and post-deployment health assessments as well as preventive health assessments (PHA).
• Complete administrative paperwork and assessments required of active duty Primary Care Managers.
• Advise other physicians, non-physician providers, and nursing and para-professional staff on the care of patients with urgent, emergent, and non-urgent medical problems.
• Serve as member of the professional medical staff following and modifying hospital plans and policies to meet accrediting agencies’ requirements.
