UNM Medical Group, Inc. is hiring for a Primary Care Physician to join our UNM Truman Health Services team! This opportunity is a full-time (1.0 FTE) Mon-Fri 8am-5pm opening located at our Truman Health Services Satellite outpatient clinic in Roswell, New Mexico. J-1 Visa applicants will be considered for this role. UNM Truman Health Services' (UNMTHS) Physician would work at THS' Roswell Satellite outpatient clinic during regular business hours (Monday-Friday 8am-5pm except Thursday 10am-5pm) evaluating and managing primary care for people with HIV and provide consultative care for HIV preventative services (Post-exposure prophylaxis, Pre-exposure prophylaxis). This provider would work collaboratively with a register nurse case manager on site in the clinic and remotely via telehealth with other members of the interprofessional healthcare team, including clinical pharmacists, behavioral health providers, clinical nutritionist, case managers, and outreach workers. The Roswell Satellite Clinic healthcare team would work in collaboration with Alianza of New Mexico for HIV Case Management Services. This Physician would work as an independent provider at this clinic under the supervision of the Medical Director at the Albuquerque-based clinic. Consultation and continuing education would be provided through telephonic consultation with providers in Albuquerque and through the teleECHO clinics provided through the South Central AIDS Education and Training Center (SCAETC). Requirements

  • MD/DO with 3 to 5 years of directly related experience which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty.
  • State of New Mexico and Federal DEA Certification
  • Medical Specialty License or Certification
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in specified area of medical specialty.
  • Completed degree from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment for a specified patient population.
  • Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
  • Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
  • Trains and supervises medical students and residents engaged in specialty activities and procedures, as appropriate.
  • May manage the daily operations of a specific medical program, patient care unit, or research function.
  • Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
  • As appropriate to the position, participates in specified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
