Physician Extender - Central Regional Hospital
About The Position
This is a repost. Previous applicants are currently under review and do not need to reapply. This position will provide a full spectrum of care from admission to discharge. This position conducts admission evaluations, acute illness or injury evaluation and treatment and provide chronic medical condition management. The population at CRH includes ages 5 to geriatric ages and each provider is assigned a specific unit of responsibility. The Medical Division also provides health evaluations and treatment for employees with work related injury and illness.
Requirements
- Licensed as a Physician Assistant by the North Carolina Medical Board or approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner by the North Carolina Board of Nursing and the North Carolina Medical Board
- Candidate is required to obtain certification in American Cardiac Life Saving and to maintain that certification

- Basic and continuously up-dated, evidence-based knowledge of anatomy and physiology, pathology, pharmacology, physical medicine, primary care medicine, preventive health maintenance and emergency medical care
- Flexibility throughout each workday and flexibility in expectations of assignments and duties over time
- Ability to adjust to changes in the work schedule and duties that arise in order to meet the needs of the patients, service and organization
- Position requires ethical and stringent adherence to safe practice of medicine such that patients and associates are not placed at increased risk of harm due to medical provider's practices
- Management prefers the applicant to be certified in a primary care discipline (Family, Adult)
