About The Position

Central Regional Hospital, a state psychiatric hospital located in Butner, NC, seeks two full time Nurse Supervisor IIs to serve as Clinical Nurse Managers on the Community Transitioning Unit (CTU). The CTU patient population consists of adults ages 18-64, diagnosed with a severe and persistent mental illness. Patients are typically transferred for long term treatment of their mental illness after repeated admissions. Many are homeless and have no source of income and housing; lacking a support system at home and in the community; and have inadequate coping and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina and three years of nursing experience, including one year of experience in a Nurse Supervisor capacity.
  • Physical requirements will be discussed with the applicant during the interview process, but will include the ability to pass CPR, protective interventions (NVCI), lifting, kneeling, walking up and down stairs.
  • Position requires a valid drivers license.

  • Ability to plan, organize, direct, and evaluate nursing care of patient care area.

  • Ability to create and maintain work schedules for all assigned staff and generate staffing reports (hard copy and electronic methods).
