About The Position

Broughton Hospital is hiring a Recreational Therapy Supervisor to supervise, coordinate, plan, develop, and implement a comprehensive Recreational Therapy service to meet the needs of the patients and to supervise assigned Recreational Therapy staff, interns, and programs. The employee engages in activities of management, recruitment/hiring process, decision making, goal setting, and planning within the structure of the RT Department. The employee administratively and clinically supervises the Recreational Therapy personnel assigned to them. The employee may function as a member of assigned treatment team and give input related to Recreational Therapy programming and overall treatment issues.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice Recreational Therapy by the North Carolina Board of Recreational Therapy Licensure and two years of experience as a Recreational Therapist.
  • Selected applicants must be able to pass a State Bureau of Investigation Criminal History Check, and complete and pass BLS/CPR training and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training during orientation.
  • This Position Is Designated As Mandatory And Must Report Or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduation from a baccalaureate degree program in Recreational Therapy or Therapeutic Recreation.
  • Prefer candidate with psych experience or having completed an internship in a psychiatric setting.
  • Prefer candidate with a degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) through the Committee on Accreditation for Recreational Therapy Education (CARTE).
