Physician Extender - Cherry Hospital
About The Position
Cherry Hospital, an accredited State Psychiatric Hospital serving the eastern region of North Carolina, is recruiting a permanent full-time Physician Extender (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner). Our 24-hour in-patient facility serves adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. The position is responsible for performing history and physicals of patients on admission, annual physicals, dictate discharge summaries, sick call on unit assigned, suture minor lacerations, prescribe medications and order lab work. Works on 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday with some extended work (call hours) on a rotating basis required.
Requirements
- Licensed as a Physician Assistant by the North Carolina Medical Board or approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner by the North Carolina Board of Nursing and the North Carolina Medical Board.
