About The Position

Alliance Orthopedics is seeking an energetic, motivated, and articulate Physician Extender to join their dynamic, fast-growing company. This role involves working side-by-side with a multidisciplinary medical team, including medical doctors, orthopedic surgeons, functional medicine practitioners, and pain management physicians. The Physician Extender also serves as a medical liaison to the conservative care team, which includes chiropractors, physical therapists, clinical athletic trainers, occupational therapists, and exercise physiologists. The position emphasizes a collaborative approach to patient care, aiming to eliminate barriers, improve communication, and shorten recovery timelines. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping patients achieve meaningful outcomes and thrive in a collaborative environment committed to continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Valid New Jersey Athletic Trainer License REQUIRED
  • Degree from an accredited Athletic Training Education Program
  • Basic understanding of patient care, medical terminology, coding procedures, reference tools, and appropriate clinical pharmacology for scope of practice
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills, especially the ability to show compassion for patients.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems
  • Willingness to challenge patients, other team members, and yourself.

Responsibilities

  • Build rapport and relationships with patients and understand their goals.
  • Medical care coordination.
  • Obtain clinical history and perform preliminary assessments/evaluations.
  • Organize physician schedules, notes, imaging studies, care plans, etc.
  • Record patient vitals, test results, progress notes, and other medical information while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Act as a liaison between the physician and patient, providing support, attention, and encouragement.
  • Conduct post-procedure next-day follow-up.
  • Facilitate distribution of necessary Durable Medical Equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
  • Partner with the Clinic Supervisor to execute additional administrative duties.
  • Collaborate with all other healthcare disciplines in a team setting to help patients achieve better outcomes.
