About The Position

This position is for an inpatient Hospital Medicine faculty physician within the Emory Division of Hospital Medicine, Department of Medicine. The physician will attend to the needs of all patients within the scope of licensing, training, and credentialing. This role involves performing patient care activities to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of a Physician and assist in generating adequate practice volume. The Physician will participate in on-call duties and actively participate in meetings and committees, practicing medicine within the current scope of national patient safety goals.

Requirements

Must possess a Doctor of Medicine Degree (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree (D.O.).
Must hold a valid and unrestricted medical license to practice medicine in the State of Georgia.
Hold a valid DEA certificate without restriction.
Excellent interpersonal skills required.
Must be computer literate.

Nice To Haves

Board Eligible or Board Certified preferred.
Experience in outpatient medical practice preferred.

Responsibilities

History and physical examinations of patients being admitted to the hospital.
Assessing the acuity of hospitalized patients and ensuring a proper level of care.
Performing bedside procedures as needed and credentialed for.
Providing consultation services for specialty provider partners.
Ordering consultations from specialty provider partners.
Initiating contact with primary care providers and teams in the outpatient setting to ensure appropriate continuity of care.
Working with trainees, which may include allied health professionals.
Attending to the medical needs of all patients by performing patient care activities.
Participating in on-call duties.
Actively participating in meetings and committees.
