About The Position

Central Health is seeking a skilled ENT Surgeon to join their program, dedicated to serving the underserved community in Travis County. This physician will collaborate with patients, families, and staff to see ENT patients in clinic, perform outpatient ENT procedures, and contribute to improving access to care through infrastructure and workflow design. The role involves supporting evidence-based practice, enhancing efficiency, and coordinating surgical care delivery. This position will serve as an attending physician for learners and may supervise advanced practice providers. It is a full-time outpatient role primarily focused on clinic-based patient care and elective outpatient surgeries in an Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC). Ten percent of clinical time is dedicated to administrative tasks.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. from an accredited educational institution.
  • Completion of an accredited residency in Otolaryngology.
  • 2 years of clinical and surgical ENT experience.
  • Unrestricted License to practice medicine in the state of Texas.
  • Board Certification or passage of Board Certification Examination from applicable credentialing body within two years of employment.
  • Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration for the purpose of writing prescriptions.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - Obtained through approved American Heart Association or Red Cross.
  • High level of skill at building relationships and providing compassionate care to underserved patient populations.
  • Interpersonal savvy and influence skills in managing difficult clients and patients.
  • High degree of knowledge and competency in the practice of medicine and associated charting requirements.
  • High level of problem-solving skill to better serve patients and staff.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to utilize computers for data entry and information retrieval.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and emergency situations successfully.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to implement and evaluate operational and emergency situations successfully.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and projects and to prioritize.
  • Demonstrated understanding and/or experience working in an integrated delivery environment.

  • 5 years of ENT experience with 2 years in leadership experience.

Responsibilities

  • See patients in clinic for ENT related concerns.
  • Perform outpatient ENT procedures, including pre and post-procedural visits.
  • Perform surgeries and surgical care in an Ambulatory Surgery Center within the scope of credentialing.
  • Prescribe medications and therapies related to surgical treatment.
  • Instruct patients and their families regarding procedures performed, plan of care, and follow-up visits.
  • Direct professional and ancillary health care staff during patient treatment.
  • Respond to inquiries from staff and patients regarding surgical care and treatments.
  • Compile patient medical data, including health history, treatment plans, and results of physical examination, and record in the electronic medical record.
  • Plan, promote, demonstrate, recommend, and coordinate high standards of medical practice.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and success in affecting overall clinical operations.
  • Show proficiency in the use of a computer, software packages, and office machines.
  • Work within the scope of credentialing privileges.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Actively communicate with others in a clear, understandable, and professional manner in person and on the phone.
  • Work in tandem with Central Health operations and clinical leaders to ensure a collaborative team-oriented environment.
