About The Position

Hartford HealthCare Medical Group, Inc. seeks four (4) full-time Endocrinology Physicians to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to treat patients with diabetes, metabolic disease, and other general endocrine diagnoses. The role involves actively referring patients to appropriate healthcare providers as medically indicated, collaborating with other providers such as diabetes educators, health psychologists, and medical and surgical bariatric staff to educate patients on endocrinology-related topics, and participating actively in community outreach activities, professional conferences, and networking opportunities, as well as hospital committees, as needed. The position is located at The William W. Backus Hospital, 326 Washington Street, Norwich, CT 06360 and Backus Outpatient Care Center, 111 Salem Turnpike, Norwich, Connecticut, 06360.

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.), or the foreign equivalent
• Completion of a U.S. medical residency program in Internal Medicine
• Completion of a U.S. medical fellowship program in Endocrinology
• Board certification or board eligibility in Internal Medicine
• Board certification or board eligibility in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism
• Possession of or eligibility for an unrestricted Connecticut medical license

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to treat patients with diabetes, metabolic disease, and other general endocrine diagnoses
• Actively refer patients to appropriate healthcare providers as medically indicated
