About The Position

West Virginia University Health System (SMG) seeks an Emergency Medicine Physician to practice in Summersville, WV. This role is part of the Summersville Regional Medical Center. The West Virginia University Health System is the state's largest health system and largest private employer, comprising 18 hospitals throughout the state and bordering states. It also includes five institutes and provides management services for other local hospitals through affiliate agreements. The Health System has expanded its specialty and sub-specialty care and operates West Virginia’s first and only multi-organ transplant center, and opened a new, 150-bed Children’s Hospital in September 2022. Today, the WVU Health System has more than 2,400 licensed beds, 3,900 providers, and nearly 30,000 employees. Anchored by a 700-bed academic medical center in Morgantown, the Health System includes more than 20 member hospitals that collectively serve a multi-state region that includes West Virginia, Western Maryland, Eastern Ohio, and Southwestern Pennsylvania.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent
  • Eligible for state medical license
  • Completed an accredited residency program
  • Board-certified or board-eligible via a recognized board within ABMS
  • Emergency Medicine Preferred, FM/IM considered with significant Emergency Medicine Experience
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
