The Prisma Health Physician is responsible for providing quality medical services to patients of Prisma Health-University Medical Group. This role involves the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of disease, defects, or injuries, and recommending or prescribing treatments for physical, mental, or functional ailments. Physicians are expected to render medical treatment consistent with accepted professional standards of care, without regard to patients' ability to pay or demographic factors. The position requires completing accurate, legible, and timely medical records using Current Procedural Terminology and International Classification of Diseases codes. It also involves providing after-hours call coverage and complying with medical practice standards, managed care organization rules, and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations standards. Physicians are expected to enhance clinical skills through continuing medical education and actively participate in non-revenue generating activities that advance Prisma Health's Vision and Mission, such as serving on committees, community outreach, and contributing to teaching and research goals as an Academic Health Center.
