About The Position
Join Sentara's Behavioral Health Care Center (BHCC) as the Director of Medical Operations (DMO), serving as the physician leader for behavioral health services across the Peninsula region. This unique opportunity blends leadership and clinical practice, allowing you to shape the growth of outpatient behavioral health services while maintaining a robust patient panel. Based at 801 Triton Court, Newport News, VA 23606, you will oversee medical operations for the region's outpatient, Partial Hospitalization (PHP), and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) programs, collaborating closely with APPs, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality behavioral health care.
Requirements
- Physician leader for behavioral health services.
- Experience in outpatient behavioral health services.
- Experience with Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) programs.
- Ability to collaborate with therapists and interdisciplinary care teams.
- Ability to lead and support a team of APPs.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the physician leader for behavioral health services across the Peninsula region.
- Shape the growth of outpatient behavioral health services.
- Maintain a robust patient panel.
- Oversee medical operations for the region's outpatient, Partial Hospitalization (PHP), and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) programs.
- Collaborate closely with APPs, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality behavioral health care.
- Provide medical oversight of both Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) programs.
- Bridge traditional outpatient psychiatry with embedded PHP/IOP services.
- Lead and support a growing team of APPs.
