About The Position

Ochsner Health in New Orleans, Louisiana is searching for a Section Head for Critical Care Anesthesiology. Qualified applicants will have the opportunity to serve as unit co-director for the Thoracic and Cardiovascular ICU (TCVICU) at Ochsner Medical Center, our 900-bed tertiary-care referral center. Applicants should be Board Certified, Fellowship-trained Critical Care Anesthesiologists, or have significant experience with Cardiac Critical Care Anesthesiology. The successful candidate will lead a growing team of Critical Care Anesthesiology Faculty members within the Department of Anesthesiology. In addition to work in the ICU, if desired, this position could include up to 30% of clinical time practicing operative Anesthesiology. The Ochsner TCVICU employs an interprofessional care model covering 12 beds with a mix of patients spanning the entire spectrum of cardiovascular surgical disciplines including Cardiothoracic Surgery, Mechanical Circulatory Support (ECMO, LVAD, IABP, etc.) & Vascular Surgery. The Ochsner Medical Center TCVICU offers the opportunity to care for one of the highest acuity and most complex patient cohorts in the nation, as evidenced by our region-leading surgical case mix index. Qualified candidates will have a strong interest in academics and research. We are a teaching program, with a fully accredited Anesthesiology residency as well as Adult Cardiac Anesthesia, Pulmonary Critical Care and Neurocritical Care fellowship programs. The OMC Department of Anesthesiology includes 70 Anesthesiologists, 100 CRNA’s, and >45 house staff, with an annual case volume of >80,000.

Requirements
