Requirements

Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Associate (CCA) certification is required.
Proficiency in ICD-10-CM and CPT coding is critical.
Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
Familiarity with third-party reimbursement rules, including Medicare and Medicaid, is necessary.
Experience in both hospital and physician coding environments will serve you well.
A solid understanding of corporate compliance and HIPAA regulations is vital.
Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and coding software is crucial.
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
Effective time management and communication abilities.
