About The Position

The Chair of Anesthesiology will play a key leadership role in shaping the future of perioperative services at Hennepin Healthcare System. Working in close partnership with surgical leaders, hospital administration, and multidisciplinary clinical teams, the Chair will advance quality and patient safety, improve access and operational performance, recruit and develop outstanding physicians and CRNAs, build and sustain an engaged, high-performing physician and CRNA team through mutual respect, and shared accountability, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. We are seeking a collaborative and visionary leader who is energized by solving complex problems, developing a high-performing team, and making a lasting impact on patient care, medical education, and the future of anesthesiology at Hennepin Healthcare System and Hennepin County Medical Center.

Requirements

Doctorate Degree (MD, DO, or equivalent) is required
Current (or eligible for) license to practice Medicine in the State of Minnesota
Board certified in an ABMS recognized specialty
Minimum 5 years administrative leadership experience at the institution, department, or section level

Build strong partnerships across clinical, operational, and administrative teams while serving as a strategic physician leader who advances organizational priorities, operational performance, and medical staff engagement.
Lead effectively through complexity and change with resilience, adaptability, transparency, sound judgment, emotional intelligence, intellectual humility, and the ability to build consensus among diverse stakeholders.
