About The Position

ConvenientMD is seeking a compassionate and experienced Physician Associate/Assistant (PA) to join their team as a Lead Provider. This role involves providing exceptional care and making a real impact on patients' lives within an urgent care clinic. Lead Providers act as clinical leaders for all clinical staff, mentoring and supporting new-grad providers and allied healthcare professionals. Requirements

  • Master's degree and certification by Physician Assistant (PA) certifying body.
  • Must have and maintain a DEA license with no restrictions.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Clinical experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or ambulatory care setting is preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills and willingness to mentor provider and non-provider staff.
  • Excellent team player with enjoyment in collaboration.
  • Proactive and confident communicator (written and verbal).
  • Compassionate, authentic, and patient-focused.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software and clinical management systems (EMR).
  • Strong knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant drugs, their chemical composition, structure, and properties.
  • Strong knowledge of non-pharmaceutical patient care aids.
  • Strong knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct health assessments, physical exams, and review medical histories to address short- and long-term patient needs.
  • Interview patients, perform physical examinations, and obtain/update medical histories.
  • Administer or order diagnostic tests (e.g., x-rays, electrocardiograms, laboratory studies) and interpret results to determine abnormal conditions.
  • Administer injections and immunizations, suture, and manage wounds and infections.
  • Educate and counsel patients about their health, therapeutic regimens, wellness, and family planning.
  • Prepare clear, complete, accurate, and legible medical records using EMR.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with company and state procedures.
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Comply with legal and professional requirements, including HIPAA and OSHA.
  • Work collaboratively with other providers and healthcare practitioners to treat patients efficiently.
  • Plan coordinated, efficient, and thoughtful patient dispositions, including transfers.
  • Act as a clinic leader, especially when the Practice Manager is not in-clinic.
  • Provide support and mentorship to new-graduate providers and other clinic staff.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuing education.
  • Act as a preceptor to new provider staff.
