About The Position

At ConvenientMD, we are dedicated to making good health more accessible and improving the patient and provider experience in New England. We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team as a Lead Provider. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional care, mentoring new-grad providers and allied healthcare professionals, and acting as a clinical leader within our urgent care clinic. This position is ideal for a PA who thrives in a collaborative setting, enjoys mentorship, and is passionate about providing high-quality care.

Requirements

• Master's degree and certification by Physician Assistant (PA) certifying body.
• Must have and maintain a DEA license with no restrictions.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software and clinical management systems (EMR).
• Strong knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
• Strong knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Strong knowledge of relevant drugs, their chemical composition, structure, and properties.
• Strong knowledge of non-pharmaceutical patient care aids.
• Strong knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct health assessments, physical exams, and review medical histories to address patient needs.
• Interview patients, perform physical examinations, and obtain/update medical histories.
• Administer or order diagnostic tests and interpret results to determine abnormal conditions.
• Perform therapeutic procedures such as administering injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound management.
• Educate and counsel patients on their health, therapeutic regimens, wellness, and development.
• Prepare clear, complete, accurate, and legible medical records using EMR.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with company and state regulations.
• Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
• Comply with legal and professional requirements, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Collaborate with other providers and healthcare practitioners to efficiently treat patients and plan dispositions.
• Act as a clinic leader, providing support and mentorship to new-graduate providers and clinic staff.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuing education and professional development.
• Act as a preceptor to new provider staff, offering guidance and learning opportunities.
