About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant (PA) to join their team in Erwin, NC. This role focuses on providing patient-centered care in an urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine setting. The ideal candidate will be able to lead a small team in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. This opportunity is suitable for PAs early in their careers, including new graduates. The company offers extensive support, including orientation, training shifts, a pediatric urgent care course, and on-call provider assistance for clinical decision-making. PAs will utilize their full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages from infants to geriatrics, which helps maintain and enhance skills. The role emphasizes leadership, with PAs acting as the primary medical provider in the clinic and guiding their medical assistant teams. The position also supports rural communities by providing accessible care and assisting with applications for tuition reimbursement grants or student loan reimbursement grants. Requirements

  • Physician Assistant Board Certification required.
  • MSN, or higher education required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.
  • DOT certified or willing to become DOT certified (company covers the cost).

Responsibilities

  • Care for every patient who comes through the door within your scope of practice.
  • Diagnose and treat cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues.
  • Perform minor procedures such as toenail removal and foreign object removal.
  • Suture and splint.
  • Conduct general orthopedic evaluations/management.
  • Review x-rays (to be over-read by Radiologist).
  • Handle general dermatology and general eye problems.
  • Perform general EKG interpretations.
  • Utilize emergency management skills.
  • Demonstrate general GYN expertise.
  • Treat children of all ages.
  • Provide occupational medicine services.
  • Conduct telemedicine appointments.
