About The Position

As an Advanced Practice Provider (APP), this role involves performing medical diagnoses and prescribing medical therapeutic or corrective measures in collaboration with attending physicians and residents. The position requires independent judgment, decision-making, and consultation/collaboration with the healthcare team to enhance patient care continuity, improve communication between physicians, families, and the healthcare team, and extend the capabilities of the medical care team. This role will require travel between all MLH Hospitals and provide per diem coverage in Hospitalist Medicine and ICU departments.

Requirements

Completion of a Physician Assistant program required.
Licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of certification by the NCCPA (National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants)
BLS certification required.
Current license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania without restriction
Prescriptive Authority and Collaborative Agreement with the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing (CRNPs) OR Written Agreement with the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine/Osteopathic Medicine (PA-Cs)
Registration with the DEA to prescribe, without restriction or limitation
Current ACLS certification Required
Completion of the MLH and MLHC credentialing processes resulting in temporary or permanent privileges issued and successful payor enrollment.
Two years Physician Assistant experience in an ICU setting is required.

Nice To Haves

A minimum of two years nursing experience in a critical care setting preferred.
