About The Position

The Physician Assistant is an advanced-education clinician who practices under direct physician supervision. The role manages patients by providing primary health care and case management, focusing on disease prevention and the management of minor, chronic, and acute illness in collaboration with the supervising physician. The Physician Assistant works with a multidisciplinary team to establish realistic goals and develop a thorough plan of care. The position supports inpatient care and coordinates appropriate follow-up after discharge, including communication with the patient’s primary care physician. The schedule is PRN/optional, and the work location is 375 Dixmyth Ave, Cincinnati, Ohio.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program with a BA/BS plus two years of post-graduate evaluation.
Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) and ACLS.
NCCPA certification.
Passing grade on the initial NCCPA board exam and recertification every six years.
Physician Assistant.
Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal relations and problem-solving skills.
Strong interest in acute patient care in an inpatient setting.
Three to four years of Physician Assistant experience.

Responsibilities

Perform patient assessments, take histories, conduct physicals, and write treatment plans with assistance from the collaborating or supervising physician and other members of the group practice.
Demonstrate flexibility and initiative.
Communicate effectively.
Evaluate, work up, and manage acute inpatients competently.
Participate actively in department quality assurance programs.
Maintain continuous learning by completing required annual continuing medical education credits.
Work with a multidisciplinary, patient-centered team to support quality patient outcomes, arrange appropriate care after discharge, and coordinate care with the patient’s primary care physician during the inpatient stay.
