We are seeking dedicated Physician Assistant for a Full-Time role working in a clinical setting. As a member of the health care team, the Physician Assistant provides primary care services at MACT clinics in accordance with accepted standards of medical practice. This includes comprehensive medical services for patients of all ages and genders.

Requirements

  • Current California Physician's Assistant license
  • Current DEA license
  • Current CPR or ALS certification
  • Clean DMV record and MACT auto insurance eligibility
  • Current BLS/ALS certificate
  • Must pass Occupational Health Screening.
  • Must possess a valid form of identification as listed on the U.S. Department of Justice I-9 form, verified using the E Verify system.
  • Clean DMV driving record and MACT auto insurance driving eligibility (determined by auto insurance carrier).
  • The position requires an awareness and keen appreciation of American Indian traditions, customs, and socioeconomic needs and the ability at all times to meet and deal effectively in contacts with Indian health organizations which requires tact, courtesy, discretion, resourcefulness and good judgment in handling functions of a sensitive nature.

  • 1 year of recent experience in ambulatory care preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary health care under standardized protocols in accordance with the California Board of Medical Quality Assurance
  • Deliver high-quality care within the scope of training and experience
  • Evaluate and treat acute injuries and illnesses.
  • Provide preventative health services
  • Conduct and record physical examinations with assessment of normal and abnormal findings.
  • Arrange all follow-up lab work, x-rays, outside patient care needs such as consultation with other specialized provider, and appointments with the Medical Receptionist.
  • Prescribe medications and promote preventive health practices
  • Collaborate with other providers on patient care
  • Ensure timely reporting and documentation of incidents
  • Provide patient and family education for health promotion, risk management, and disease prevention.
  • Interface with community organizations, identify community resources, and assist patients and their families in utilizing resources.
  • Maintain and enhance professional knowledge and skills related to Indian Health Care by attending relevant continuing education courses.
  • Maintain licensure.
  • Act as a resource for staff and community in area of expertise
  • Demonstrate dependability and punctuality
  • Maintain positive working relationships
