About The Position

Utah Navajo Health System, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Medical Provider to work in Monument Valley, Utah. This is a full-time position within a large organization that operates 4 medical and 5 dental clinics across San Juan County. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current Physician Assistant license in the State of Utah (or ability to obtain).
  • Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain).
  • Current BLS (CPR/AED) certification.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and ability to provide patient care independently within scope.
  • Proof of immunization prior to or during employment, including MMR, Hepatitis B, up-to-date PPD skin testing, Tdap, Varicella, Influenza, and COVID-19 vaccine, and any other requested vaccinations.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of clinical experience in primary care or outpatient setting.
  • Experience in rural healthcare, tribal health systems, or Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs).
  • Familiarity with Navajo Nation healthcare environment and cultural considerations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up in accordance with scope of practice.
  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations and obtain detailed patient medical histories.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory and imaging studies.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescribing medications in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Provide patient education on disease prevention, health maintenance, and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with supervising physicians and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including adherence to UDS and clinical performance metrics.
  • Respond to patient inquiries, manage follow-up care, and coordinate referrals to specialists as needed.
  • Participate in clinical meetings, case reviews, and interdisciplinary team discussions.
  • Maintain compliance with all UNHS policies, HIPAA regulations, and applicable federal, state, and tribal laws.
  • Maintain professional licensure, certifications, and continuing education requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervising physician or UNHS leadership.
