About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant (PA) in Monroeville, AL, to provide patient-focused care in a high-volume, fast-paced urgent care environment. The role involves leading a small team and offering services such as urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. This opportunity is suitable for PAs early in their career, including new graduates, and offers extensive support including on-site orientation, training shifts, a complimentary pediatric urgent care CE course, and NP on-call assistance for clinical decision-making. The position allows PAs to utilize their full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages from babies to geriatrics, and performing a wide range of procedures. Providers will act as the medical leader in the clinic, guided by treatment protocols, and serve as a professional role model for medical assistants. The clinics serve rural communities, and many locations qualify for state-funded tuition or student loan reimbursement grants, with support provided for the application process. This role is presented as a two-year commitment that offers significant career growth and development.

Requirements

  • Physician Assistant Board Certification required
  • MSN, or higher education required
  • Are you DOT certified or willing to become DOT certified (we cover the cost of the certification)?

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Care for every patient who comes through the door within your scope of practice
  • Diagnosing and treating cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues
  • Minor procedures (toenail removal, foreign object removal, etc.)
  • Suturing
  • Splinting
  • General Orthopedic evaluations/management
  • Review of x-rays (to be over-read by Radiologist, too)
  • General Dermatology
  • General eye problems
  • General EKG interpretations
  • Emergency management skills
  • General GYN expertise
  • Treating children of all ages
  • Occupational medicine
  • Telemedicine
