About The Position

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential opportunity for a Physician Assistant at Womack Army Medical Center (Department of Public Health) Fort Bragg, NC. This position offers a full-time opportunity, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, with no holidays or weekends. It provides a consistent and predictable income, paid vacation, and paid sick leave. A full complement of benefits, including Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance, 401k, and more, is available for those working at least 28 hours per week on a consistent basis. The role involves working as part of an integrated health care team to provide acute, emergent, and chronic health care to patients in compliance with IHSC policy and guidance and accreditation standards. Key duties include performing comprehensive history and physical evaluations, behavioral health care, and minor outpatient surgical procedures. The Physician Assistant will demonstrate appropriate application of clinical knowledge in treatment plans, lab/diagnostic ordering, medication prescribing, referrals, and follow-up. Participation in court-ordered treatment plans, including evaluation and treatment of patients with psychiatric illness or life-threatening conditions, is also required. The role provides full spectrum of age and gender-specific health care, including treatment of gender dysphoria and pregnancy.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Masters Degree
  • National Certification
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Physician Assistant in a family or primary care setting
  • Active license
  • Current DEA registration
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • US Citizen

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to the IHSC Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Collaborative Practice and Prescriptive Authority Agreement (CP/PAA).
  • Works as part of an integrated health care team to provide acute, emergent, and chronic health care to patients in compliance with IHSC policy and guidance and accreditation standards as prescribed by ICE/IHSC.
  • Performs comprehensive history and physical evaluations, behavioral health care, and minor outpatient surgical procedures for detainees as required by the medical condition.
  • Demonstrates appropriate application of clinical knowledge within documented treatment plans, prescriptions, and provides treatment throughout the life span as appropriate to discipline and facility setting.
  • Demonstrates appropriate application of clinical knowledge within documented lab/diagnostic ordering and interpretation, medication prescribing practices, referrals to consultants, follow-up after hospitalization or consultation.
  • Participates in and complies with court ordered treatment plans to include evaluation and treatment of patients with psychiatric illness or life-threatening conditions including hunger strike.
  • Provides full spectrum of age and gender specific health care to include treatment of gender dysphoria and pregnancy.
