Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
Current Physician Assistant license in Pennsylvania
Current NCCPA certification (PA-C)
Current CPR/BLS certification
Ability to practice and prescribe in accordance with Pennsylvania requirements and applicable collaborative/supervisory agreements
Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team
Ability to successfully complete all required background checks, health screenings, clearances, and regulatory compliance requirements

Nice To Haves

Pediatric, acute-care, complex-care, long-term care, or experience working with medically fragile patients is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive and focused physical examinations and clinical assessments
Evaluate acute and chronic medical conditions and changes in patient status
Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians and the clinical team
Order, review, and interpret laboratory tests, diagnostic studies, and other clinical findings
Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with applicable licensure, authorization, and facility protocols
Participate in clinical rounds and interdisciplinary care planning
Communicate with families and caregivers regarding clinical conditions and plans of care
Respond to changes in condition and support appropriate clinical interventions
Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough clinical documentation
Collaborate with nursing, respiratory therapy, rehabilitation, and other clinical disciplines
Support quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical care initiatives
