About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant (PA) to join their growing team in Milledgeville, GA. This role focuses on providing patient-centered care to help patients feel better quickly, offering services such as urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. The ideal candidate will be able to lead a small team in a high-volume, fast-paced urgent care setting. This opportunity is suitable for PAs early in their careers, including new graduates. The company provides comprehensive support, including on-site orientation, training shifts with experienced providers, a complimentary pediatric urgent care course, and an on-call provider for clinical decision-making support. PAs will utilize their full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages from infants to geriatric individuals, which helps maintain sharp skills and marketability. The role emphasizes leadership, with PAs acting as the primary medical provider in the clinic, supported by treatment protocols and medical assistants whom they can mentor. The position also supports rural communities by providing access to care in underserved areas, with clinics open 362 days a year. Many clinics qualify for tuition reimbursement or student loan reimbursement grants, which the company assists with in the application process. Requirements

  • Physician Assistant Board Certification required.
  • MSN, or higher education required.
  • DOT certified or willing to become DOT certified (company covers the cost).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Care for every patient who comes through the door within your scope of practice.
  • Diagnose and treat cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues.
  • Perform minor procedures such as toenail removal and foreign object removal.
  • Suture wounds.
  • Apply splints.
  • Conduct general orthopedic evaluations and management.
  • Review x-rays (to be over-read by a Radiologist).
  • Address general dermatology issues.
  • Treat general eye problems.
  • Perform general EKG interpretations.
  • Utilize emergency management skills.
  • Provide general GYN expertise.
  • Treat children of all ages.
  • Provide occupational medicine services.
  • Conduct telemedicine appointments.
