About The Position

The Fort Yates Hospital, located near the Missouri River on the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation at Fort Yates, North Dakota is a fully accredited 12-bed hospital staffed by Physicians and Nurse Practitioners. The hospital provides comprehensive primary care based on the Primary Care Medical Home model. The Emergency Department offers 24/7 care and is designated as a Level IV trauma center. Additional services include inpatient care, dental services, behavior health, optometry, nutritional counseling, and telehealth. Requirements

Graduate of an accredited bachelor's or master's program in physician studies.
Current and continuous certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Client must possess an active, current, full, and unrestricted license to practice in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia.

Responsibilities

Will provide quality patient care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
Ability to utilize the principles of Physician Assistant practice in the care of assigned patients to provide appropriate care.
Ability to formulate a plan and provide treatment to the patient.
The Physician Assistant will have the ability to provide patient care that is abreast of changing concepts and advancements in the profession.
Ability to function autonomously and make independent medical decisions.
Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary environment for improvement of services for patient care.
Will function as experts in clinical practice and/or in areas related to the assigned roles and responsibilities, may serve as mentors for transitioning Physician Assistants, and may provide training for health care students.
Ability to present clinical findings and recommendations to appropriate management officials.
Ability to clinically facilitate the delivery of patient care in collaborating with health professionals, health managers, and other health care personnel.
Ability to implement and initiate clinical changes to established treatment protocols based upon new medical literature research findings to enhance patient delivery care for improved patient outcomes.
