About The Position

The Physician Assistant functions as a health care provider in an inpatient and outpatient setting, providing evidence-based diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventative care under the general supervision of a physician. The role is in adult endocrinology at Memorial Healthcare System.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant training program.
• Physician Assistant license from the State of Florida.
• Required BLS certification from an accepted provider or credential listed in the job description.
• Must demonstrate critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• The role requires privileging and credentialing.
• New hires, transfers, and rehires must meet certification requirements or possess seven years of APP experience in the particular area of expertise.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in PA studies or Medical Sciences.
• NCCPA certification.

Responsibilities

• Obtain complete medical histories and perform comprehensive or focused physical examinations appropriate to the patient population.
• Execute diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as indicated.
• Instruct and counsel patients regarding health promotion and health maintenance.
• Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventative healthcare management as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including performing a variety of medical or procedural tasks.
• Present historical and physical data during daily rounds, along with evaluations and recommendations, to help the healthcare team identify medical problems and determine appropriate diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
• Synthesize relevant patient data during outpatient encounters.
• Provide follow-up and health maintenance care according to accepted standards of care and best practices.
• Maintain complete and accurate records of patient contacts, whether in person, virtually, or by telephone.
