This position is for an experienced Orthopedic Physician Assistant to join a busy adult reconstruction team in Westmont, specializing in anterior hip and robotic-assisted total knee arthroplasty, with a focus on high efficiency and excellent clinical results. The role offers a collaborative, high-performance environment with a competitive salary and a predictable schedule with a manageable call burden, excluding emergency room responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of direct experience in total joint procedures.
  • Proficiency in surgical techniques and wound closure for primary hip and knee replacements.
  • Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program with completed residency.
  • Physician Assistant IL state licensure up to date.
  • Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies.
  • Active Certification from NCCPA.
  • Active Licensure as Physician’s Assistant in the State of Illinois.
  • Current CPR required.

Nice To Haves

  • Hip injections (preferred).
  • Training in orthopedic care preferred.
  • ACLS desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform knee injections independently and hip injections (preferred).
  • Evaluate surgical candidates and postoperative patients using strong clinical judgment.
  • Utilize experience with robotic-assisted total knee systems, such as Mako, and outpatient arthroplasty workflows.
  • Serve as first assistant in the operating room and manage preoperative and postoperative care.
  • Perform in-office procedures and conduct occasional rounding.
  • Collaborate with the surgeon and care team to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Engage in a limited call schedule alongside another mid-level provider, consisting of two weekdays per month and one weekend every quarter, excluding any emergency department call duties.
  • Performs other duties within the guidelines per department and hospital policy within normal scope and characteristics of the sponsoring/attending physician’s practice and current clinical privileges.
