About The Position

LMC Healthcare is seeking a Physician Assistant for a permanent full-time position at their LMC Vaughan clinic. This role involves providing medical care in endocrinology and diabetes under the supervision of an endocrinologist. The Physician Assistant will also act as a sub-investigator in clinical research studies related to diabetes, adhering to Good Clinical Practice standards. LMC offers a supportive environment with established teams, full training, and professional development opportunities, including a professional development fund and education days. Medical directives are in place and reviewed annually. The role offers opportunities to attend conferences and rounds for continuing professional development credits. Current PAs mentor PA students, and new hires receive comprehensive training regardless of prior experience. Compensation includes a competitive salary based on experience and an annual performance bonus program.

Requirements

  • Completion of a university-based accredited Physician Assistant training program (Bachelor or Master level).
  • Membership in good standing with the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants (CAPA).
  • Experience practicing as a Physician Assistant is considered an asset, but new graduates are welcome.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complete clinical assessments of patients, including obtaining history and performing physical assessments.
  • Request and review diagnostic testing.
  • Provide patient education in Diabetes management and advanced skills.
  • Manage, counsel, and educate patients on the implementation and adjustment of diabetes and other endocrine therapies and monitoring systems.
  • Consult with supervising physician as necessary and perform patient care activities as per medical directives.
  • Act as Sub-Investigator and coordinator for research studies.
  • Conduct study patient physicals and visits.
  • Perform queries and enter data for research studies.
  • Follow all requirements under the Research Standard Operating Procedures.
