About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant (PA) to join their team in Talladega, AL. The PA will provide patient-focused care in an urgent care setting, offering services such as urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. The role involves leading a small team in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. This opportunity is suitable for PAs early in their career, including new graduates. The company provides comprehensive training, including an on-site HQ orientation, training shifts with experienced providers, a complimentary pediatric urgent care CE course, and an NP on-call for clinical support. PAs will utilize their full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages from infants to geriatrics. The position emphasizes leadership, with PAs acting as the primary medical provider in the clinic, supported by treatment protocols and medical assistants. The role also supports rural communities by providing accessible care and assisting with applications for tuition reimbursement grants or student loan reimbursement grants. This is presented as a two-year commitment with long-term career growth potential.

Requirements

  • Physician Assistant Board Certification required.
  • MSN, or higher education required.
  • DOT certified or willing to become DOT certified (company covers cost).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Care for every patient who comes through the door within your scope of practice.
  • Diagnose and treat cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues.
  • Perform minor procedures such as toenail removal and foreign object removal.
  • Suture.
  • Splint.
  • Conduct general orthopedic evaluations/management.
  • Review x-rays (to be over-read by Radiologist).
  • Address general dermatology issues.
  • Handle general eye problems.
  • Perform general EKG interpretations.
  • Utilize emergency management skills.
  • Demonstrate general GYN expertise.
  • Treat children of all ages.
  • Provide occupational medicine services.
  • Conduct telemedicine appointments.
