About The Position

Holy Cross Urgent Care is seeking a part-time Physician Assistant to join their team. This role involves maintaining clinical standards, examining patients, developing patient education plans, ordering and interpreting tests, administering treatments, promoting health, referring patients to specialists, and accurately documenting patient records. The Physician Assistant will also utilize company resources efficiently, participate in quality improvement activities and educational programs, and maintain competency in relevant skills. They must also maintain contact with a Primary Supervising Physician for issues outside their scope of practice. Requirements

  • Must maintain contract with Primary Supervising Physician/Locum Tenens Physicians to deal with issues outside of their scope of practice.
  • Maintains competency in skills relevant to the scope of services provided in the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains appropriate clinical standards and follows company policy and procedure manuals.
  • Examines patients for symptoms and physical information, ensuring high-quality, patient-focused healthcare while respecting patient rights.
  • Aids patients in being informed and participating in decisions about their medical care and treatment.
  • Initiates a patient education plan according to individualized needs, including patient and family instruction.
  • Ensures care respects personal values and beliefs, focusing on individual patient needs.
  • Elicits and reviews patient's medical history.
  • Orders or executes tests, analyses, results, reports, and diagnostic images to determine appropriate treatment and follow-up.
  • Administers or prescribes treatments and medications appropriate for patient condition.
  • Promotes health through educational instruction and advising patients on diet, hygiene, and disease prevention.
  • Refers patients to medical specialists when necessary for their well-being.
  • Accurately, efficiently, and completely documents necessary data for patient records to facilitate billing processes.
  • Ensures all medical record entries are legible, complete, dated, timed, and signed with appropriate credentials, completed within 48 hours of discharge.
  • Utilizes all equipment, supplies, facilities, and resources of the Company in a prudent and efficient manner.
  • Participates in department quality improvement activities, staff educational programs, and departmental meetings.
  • Demonstrates and maintains clinical competency in patient care services according to Company guidelines.
  • Participates in Peer Review and Chart Audit processes as designated by the Medical Director.
  • Maintains contract with Primary Supervising Physician/Locum Tenens Physicians to deal with issues outside of their scope of practice.
  • Maintains competency in skills relevant to the scope of services provided in the facility.
