About The Position

The Physician Assistant assists Primary Care Physicians in providing medical services to patients in specialized areas including Family Practice, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, and Obstetrics/Gynecology. The role works in an outpatient clinic setting and may involve travel to satellite facilities, as well as evening or weekend work.

Requirements

• Nationally Certified Physician Assistant by State.
• Written examination for the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistant.
• CPR certification.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Suturing and casting skills.
• Meet pre-employment requirements, including I-9, physical, positive background and reference check results, complete application, new-hire orientation, and pre-employment PPDs.
• Comply with mandated vaccinations and boosters as a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of primary care experience after completion of clinical training.
• Some experience supervising medical assistants.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills are helpful.

Responsibilities

• Take patient histories, assess patients, and record and present pertinent information, including emergent cases, to the physician.
• Assist with or perform routine laboratory, screening, and therapeutic procedures.
• Facilitate physician referrals to appropriate health facilities, agencies, or community resources.
• Administer medication according to established policies.
• Coordinate reports and written documentation, including medical records, as required by the department, company, and state and federal requirements.
• Maintain departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, and safety, environmental, and infection-control standards.
• Support professional growth and development through educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
• Attend required meetings and participate on committees as directed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
