About The Position

PAVILLON is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to join a talented and stimulating multidisciplinary team. The role involves performing physical examinations, prescribing medications and medical services for patients in collaboration with the Medical Director and multidisciplinary team. The Physician Assistant will also assist the Medical Director with psychiatric assessments and patient psychiatric needs as directed.

Requirements

• Current North Carolina license as a Physician Assistant.
• 5 years of PA experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in a psychiatric and/or chemical dependency facility.
• Satisfactory criminal background check.
• Satisfactory motor vehicle background check.
• Clean urine drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient history and physical examinations for newly admitted patients, ensuring professional and timely completion and accurate loading into the patient record.
• Collaborate with the Nursing Department.
• Provide medical attention to patients as needed and document these services in the medical record.
• Prescribe medications for medical conditions, including withdrawal from alcohol and/or other substances.
• Review psychiatric medications and diagnoses under the supervision of the Pavillon Medical Director.
• Review applications for potential patient admissions.
• Participate in Clinical Management Meetings (Medical Advisory Committee).
• Participate in multidisciplinary staff meetings as needed.
• Assist with medical procedures as needed.
• Provide input into multidisciplinary assessment and care planning processes and ensure appropriate documentation.
