About The Position

LMC Healthcare is Canada’s largest specialist care provider in diabetes & endocrinology, aiming to transform diabetes care by making it more accessible, comprehensive, and patient-centric. This role is for a Physician Assistant to join the LMC Oakville clinic on a permanent full-time basis. The position involves providing medical care in endocrinology and diabetes under the supervision of an endocrinologist, and also acting as a sub-investigator in clinical research studies in diabetes, adhering to Good Clinical Practice. Medical directives are in place and reviewed annually. Current PAs mentor PA students, and new hires receive full training regardless of prior experience. PAs are eligible for a competitive salary based on experience and an Annual Performance Bonus program.

Requirements

  • University-based accredited Physician Assistant training program (Bachelor or Master level).
  • Must be a member in good standing of the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants (CAPA).
  • Ready to expand your expertise and grow in the specialty of Endocrinology Practice.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience practicing as a Physician Assistant is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complete clinical assessments of patients, including obtaining history and performing physical assessments.
  • Request and review diagnostic testing.
  • Provide patient education in Diabetes management and advanced skills.
  • Manage, counsel, and educate patients through the implementation and adjustment of all diabetes and other endocrine therapies and monitoring systems.
  • Consult supervising physician as necessary and perform all patient care activities as per medical directives.
  • Act as Sub-Investigator and coordinator for research studies.
  • Conduct study patient physicals, visits, perform queries, and enter data.
  • Follow all requirements under the Research Standard Operating Procedures.
