About The Position

Located in the Phoenix, Ariz., suburb of Chandler, the Chandler Regional Medical Center is a 429-bed, not-for-profit hospital with more than 2,600 team members and almost 1,000 doctors on staff representing all major specialties. Chandler Regional joined the Dignity Health system in 1999, but has been part of the community for more than 50 years. The hospital includes a Level I Trauma Center, a Heart and Vascular Center, a Wound Healing Center, a Family Birth Center and many additional services. Dignity Health Chandler Regional, Mercy Gilbert, and Arizona General Hospital Mesa awarded $422,000 in grants to support five community projects led by 15 local organizations. Since 1991, Dignity Health's Community Health Improvement Grants program has provided $91 million to nearly 3,800 health projects, focusing on vulnerable and underserved populations. As a Physician Assistant, Neuroscience, you will provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients under the supervision and responsibility of a Physician.Every day, you will apply your specialized knowledge to assess, diagnose, and manage conditions affecting the nervous system. This involves detailed patient evaluations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing and implementing treatment plans, and collaborating closely with neurologists, neurosurgeons, and other specialists to optimize patient outcomes.To be successful in your role, you will meticulously provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to neuroscience patients, working under the supervision and responsibility of a Physician. You will demonstrate exceptional clinical proficiency in assessing and managing complex neurological conditions, contributing significantly to patient care through precise diagnostics and effective therapeutic interventions, all while collaborating seamlessly within the neuroscience team.

Requirements

  • Degree as a Physician Assistant
  • 3 years clinical experience in related area
  • Physician Assistant ARCEPA
  • Drug Enforcement Administration-Control Sub Reg Cert: AZ
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support - CPR
  • Physician Assistant: AZ

Responsibilities

  • Gathers complete history of patients and perform complete physical examinations or focused physical examinations for specific complaints.
  • Completes discharge summaries and maintains documentation on patient visits
  • Conducts daily patient rounds, as needed
  • Recognizes and evaluates situations which require immediate attention of supervising physician and which require treatment procedures essential for life of patients; responds in appropriate manner.
  • Coordinates with supervising physician regarding patients seen such as sees patients in physician's office and hospital, instructs and counsels patients on health and disease issues based on assessment data and assists in cardiothoracic surgery when needed.
  • Follows up with patient by phone (post treatment).
  • Coordinates resources to facilitate care for out-of-town patients
  • Prescribes and dispenses drugs and medical devices in accordance with regulations established by the Arizona Joint Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners in Medicine and Surgery.
  • Monitors effectiveness of therapeutic interventions and makes appropriate referrals when necessary.
  • Secures patient health illness and psychological history by ordering, performing and interpreting appropriate laboratory, radiographic and other diagnostic tests.
