About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY Ideally a candidate with wound care background or surgery background but open to training a candidate Will see approximately 12-18 patients a day Perform comprehensive inpatient assessments of patients with acute and chronic wounds, ostomies, and incontinence Develop and implement evidence-based wound care treatment plans, including ordering appropriate diagnostic tests, medications, dressings, and devices Provide wound debridement, negative pressure wound therapy, biopsies, and other procedures as indicated Monitor and evaluate patient progress and response to treatment Educate patients, families, and caregivers on wound prevention, management, and self-care Document patient encounters and interventions in the electronic medical record Communicate effectively with other members of the health care team Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities Hyperbaric chamber experience preferred, training is available if needed. Additional compensation components may be applicable such as bonuses or incentives which may or may not be based on metric achievement.

Requirements

Licensed to provide Advanced Practice Nurse Services or Physician Assistant Services
Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and State of Illinois for prescribing of narcotics

Responsibilities
