About The Position

AIMS Locum Tenens is seeking a qualified Physician Assistant – Urology to provide specialty medical care within the Urology Clinic at Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center (MOMMC). The Physician Assistant (PA) will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with urologic conditions involving the kidneys, bladder, urinary tract, and male reproductive system. Duties include patient assessments, specialty consultations, treatment planning, procedural support, patient education, medication management, and coordination of care while ensuring compliance with DHA and military healthcare standards.

Requirements

  • Degree: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Education: Graduate from an accredited college or university certified by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
  • Certification: Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Experience: Should have at least 24 months of experience as a Physician Assistant within the last 36 months
  • Licensure: Must possess a current, full, active, and unrestricted Physician Assistant license in any U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
  • Must comply with all DHA and Medical Employee Health Program (MEHP) requirements, including annual influenza vaccination, tuberculosis screening, and required immunizations.
  • Must successfully complete all credentialing, background investigations, and installation access requirements for work on Nellis Air Force Base.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with military healthcare systems and TRICARE is highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations for urology patients.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic urologic conditions.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians and specialty teams.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory studies, imaging, and diagnostic procedures related to urologic care.
  • Assist with and perform approved urologic procedures within the scope of clinical privileges.
  • Provide pre-procedure and post-procedure patient care and monitoring.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments according to approved protocols and scope of practice.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, preventive care, and follow-up instructions.
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical record documentation.
  • Coordinate referrals, specialty consultations, diagnostic testing, and continuity of care.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, technicians, and ancillary staff to support patient care delivery.
