About The Position

Seeking a Physician Assistant for Trauma and Acute Care Surgery at UH Lake Medical Center. The PA will collaborate with Trauma Surgeons on trauma consults, medically manage admitted trauma patients with the potential for first assist operative time. The schedule is 12 hr. shifts rotating days, nights, weekends and holidays. New grads welcome to apply! A Brief Overview The Physician Assistant (PA) is responsible for providing quality care for patients and increasing patient access and satisfaction. Standard tasks to be performed by a PA as specified by the Ohio State Board of Medicine and UH entity specific Medical Bylaws.

Requirements

Master's Degree from an accredited PA educational program (Required)
Physician Assistant (PA) (Required)
Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)
Passed the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (Required)
Practice with a supervising physician (Required Upon Hire)
Maintain national PA Certification (Required)
Demonstrated leadership skills. (Required proficiency)
Demonstrated skills in interpersonal relationships. (Required proficiency)
Computer skills to access patient medical data from UHHS mainframe. (Required proficiency)
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook. (Required proficiency)

Nice To Haves

1+ years as a Physician Assistant (Preferred)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Preferred)
