About The Position

The Physician Assistant (PA) will provide comprehensive trauma and acute care surgical services during overnight shifts. This role involves managing trauma admissions, emergency general surgery cases, and facilitating inpatient care. The PA will conduct thorough evaluations, formulate care plans, and interpret diagnostic tests. They will also assist trauma surgeons with various procedures, including resuscitation and operative support, and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary clinical team to optimize patient outcomes. Ensuring meticulous documentation and clinical workflows in Epic EMR is crucial. The position requires practicing autonomously while effectively prioritizing and managing multiple complex tasks, and contributing to the ongoing quality, safety, and performance metrics of the Trauma Surgery service. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a Master’s degree in PA Studies – REQUIRED
  • NCCPA Certification – REQUIRED (no exceptions)
  • Recent NPDB Self Query Report (within the last 30 days and active) – REQUIRED (no exemptions; required at the time of presentation)
  • Unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant in Colorado – REQUIRED
  • Eligibility for DEA and Medicare/Medicaid provider status – REQUIRED
  • Absence of sanctions/exclusions from HHS/OIG or GSA – REQUIRED
  • BLS certification – REQUIRED (no exemptions)

Nice To Haves

  • Clean malpractice and license history – HIGHLY PREFERRED
  • Minimum of 2 years in trauma surgery preferred OR completion of a surgical fellowship – HIGHLY PREFERRED
