Per Diem Physician Assistant - Robotic Surgery
About The Position
New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital is seeking a Per Diem Physician Assistant specializing in Robotic Surgery to join their team. This role involves providing care for surgical patients, including intra-operative bedside assistance, rounding with the surgical team, writing notes and orders, and performing bedside procedures. The position is part of a comprehensive team covering various subspecialties such as General Surgery, Colorectal, Bariatrics, Gynecology, and Urology. The hospital has a long-standing tradition of excellence in surgical care, being one of the first surgical teaching hospitals in the United States.
Requirements
- At least one year of experience in surgical robotic medicine.
- Competency with X, Xi, and/or DV5 Intuitive systems is required.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Physician Assistant related studies.
- NYS PA Licensure.
- Current NCCPA Certification.
- ACLS/BLS.
- NYS Infection Control certification.
- DEA Certification with NYS Opioid Prescriber training compliance.
Responsibilities
- Provide bedside assistance intra-operatively.
- Serve as a front-line provider rounding with the surgical team.
- Write notes and orders for surgical patients.
- Perform necessary bedside procedures.
- Cover a wide range of subspecialties including General Surgery, Colorectal, Bariatrics, Gynecology, and Urology.
