About The Position

The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Physician Assistant for the Office of Clinical Research (OCR) Center for Clinical Investigation (CCI). The CCI physician assistant will be an integral member of a multidisciplinary team, providing routine and specialized research procedures and services to Harvard-affiliated research investigators. This role involves assisting physician staff in research services across various treatment areas, including the main ED, hospital clinics, inpatient units, and discrete inpatient and outpatient research centers. The PA will collaborate with coworkers and study team members, utilizing advanced practice skills to enhance clinical, consultation, education, and research services. The position will provide care for a broad range of patients with various diagnoses and administer study treatments such as study drugs, immunotherapy, and CAR-T. Work areas include the Center for Clinical Investigation discrete inpatient and outpatient units, hospital clinics, and various inpatient units like the Neuro ICU, Surgical ICU, and the Cancer Center. Job responsibilities will require significant standing, moving between rooms and floors, and verbal and written communication with colleagues, patients, and family members. Patient care will require standard precautions and potentially additional precautions as necessary.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree Physician Assistant required
  • Physician Assistant MA PA required
  • Skilled in taking medical histories to assess medical condition and interpret findings.
  • Ability to maintain quality control standards.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a licensed Physician Assistant preferred.
  • Clinical research experience preferred.
  • Hands on clinical skills including IV placement/phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide routine and specialized research procedures and services to Harvard-affiliated research investigators.
  • Assist physician staff in the provision of research services in various treatment areas including ED, clinics, and inpatient units.
  • Collaborate with CCI coworkers and study team members utilizing advanced practice skills.
  • Enhance clinical, consultation, education, and research services provided by the Center.
  • Provide care for a broad range of patients with various diagnoses.
  • Administer various study treatments including study drugs, immunotherapy, and CAR-T.
  • Communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
