About The Position

Intercept Health is a family-owned agency serving various mental and behavioral health, substance use, and foster care needs in Virginia. We are currently seeking an experienced Psychiatric and Substance Abuse Physician Assistant to perform initial and follow-up medication management assessments for clients who suffer from Psychiatric and/or Addictive symptoms. The Physician Assistant shall recommend and prescribe psychiatric and detox medications, when appropriate to clients through Tele Services and/or through direct face to face contact in an outpatient setting. The Physician Assistant should be comfortable with the patient population, function independently with minimal supervision by the Psychiatric and Buprenorphine waivered Physician.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
Licensed physician assistant with current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification.
Buprenorphine waiver.
2 years of experience in psychiatric and substance use treatment.
Experience with Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Required.

Responsibilities

Perform initial and follow-up medication management assessments for clients with Psychiatric and/or Addictive symptoms.
Recommend and prescribe psychiatric and detox medications, when appropriate, to clients.
Provide services through Tele Services and/or direct face-to-face contact in an outpatient setting.
Function independently with minimal supervision.
