About The Position

South College, Dallas, Texas, invites applications for the position of Director of Clinical Education in the hybrid Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) Program. We seek a highly motivated, innovative, and collaborative Physician Assistant educator who is committed to excellence in teaching, clinical education, and student success. The 24-month MPAS program combines synchronous and asynchronous online instruction with immersive on-campus learning experiences, providing a rigorous curriculum comparable to that of a traditional residential program. This faculty position requires periodic travel to establish and strengthen clinical education partnerships, as well as attendance on the Dallas campus during designated instructional and program activities. The successful candidate will provide academic and administrative leadership for the clinical phase of the program and will play an integral role in the continued development, implementation, and assessment of the clinical education curriculum. Working collaboratively with program faculty, clinical partners, and institutional leadership, the Director of Clinical Education will oversee clinical site development and maintenance, coordinate student clinical placements, cultivate and support preceptors, ensure the effective delivery of the clinical curriculum, and maintain compliance with applicable accreditation standards and program policies. Requirements

  • Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited program with at least 3 years of clinical experience as a PA
  • Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies or related field
  • Current NCCPA certification
  • Eligibility for licensure in Texas (must secure upon hire if not currently held)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • PAs with formal teaching and/or Clinical Director experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead development, expansion and maintenance of clinical rotation sites nationwide
  • Develop and provide ongoing management of the clinical portion of the program
  • Act as a liaison between the preceptor, student, and program
  • Provide continuous self-assessment and evaluation of the clinical portion of the program in accordance with the ARC-PA standards.
  • Assist in the continuous review and compliance of federal, state, and accrediting activities
  • Maintain and review scheduling of patient tracking logs
  • Plan scholarship and service activities
  • Lead coordination of End of Rotation activities and testing
  • Provide instruction in all phases of the program
  • Participate in program self-assessment, outcomes analysis and continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Participate in student advising, student admissions, and committees as assigned
